Understanding Incontinence
Understanding
Incontinence
Urinary incontinence is a common problem that many women face after childrbirth. During pregnancy, the growth of the baby along with hormonal changes can stretch and weaken the pelvic floor. Giving birth also contributes heavily to this.
Stress Incontinence
Leaking urine when laughing, coughing, sneezing, or exercising.
Urge Incontinence
A sudden, intense urge to urinate followed by involuntary leakage.
Incontinence can be improved with the help of various exercises. Strength traingin, flexibility training, and healthy habits can help strengthen the plevic floor and improve incontinence.
Back and Pelvic Pain
The back and pelvis are two common areas of pain after childbirth. Various activties can greatly improve your pain. These activites include strength training, mobility workouts, and breathing mechanics.
Low Back Pain
Persistent pain or sharp ache in the lower back, often made worse by certain movements or positions.
Pelvic Pain
Discomfort in the pelvic area that can be constant or triggered by certain activities like walking, sitting, or standing for too long.
Sacroiliac Pain
Pain in the area where the spine meets the pelvis, often felt on one side and can radiate down the leg.
Hip Pain
Discomfrot in the hip joints, often related to changes in posture and gait during and after pregnancy.
Sexual Discomfort and Pain
A weakened pelvic floor can lead to physical discomfort durign sexual activity. This pain is known as dyspareunia.
Dyspareunia is caused when the plevic floor muscles are too weak to support the surrounding organs. Vaginal sensitivity can also contribute to this.
Though this disomcort is physical, it can lead to mental and emotional strain. Self-conciousness and anxiety regarding sexual intimacy can introduce stress into a marriage or relationship, and fear of pain during intimiacy can develop. Due to these mental impacts, it is important to address this pain early.
Through breathing techniques and certain exercieses, the symtpoms of sexual dysfunction canbe greatly reduced.
